In our blended learning program, you will undertake the PMC partially Online, complemented by a 3-Day Face-to-Face Workshop at our Melbourne CBD premises.
The emphasis of our PMC is ‘learning by doing’. You will complete Online and Face-to-Face activities to develop the necessary skills to enable you to become proficient in legal practice management.

Anyone can do our Practice Management Course. However, our Course is specifically designed for practitioners who wish to satisfy the skills and expertise requirements for the grant of a Principal Practising Certificate. Our PMC is also suitable for practitioners who simply want to improve their Practice Management knowledge and skills. Our PMC isn’t just a ‘tick the box’ course, it is designed by leading practitioners to significantly improve and enhance your knowledge and skills and place you in the best position to confidently run your practice.

Practitioners seeking a grant of a Principal Practising Certificate to operate on or after 1 January 2019 must demonstrate to the Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner’s satisfaction that he or she has the appropriate skills and expertise required to be a principal. Our PMC has been assessed by the Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner as meeting the requirements set out in the Grant of a Principal Practising Certificate Policy for Victoria and the Practice Management Course Guidelines for Victoria.
Participants who successfully complete our PMC will be considered by the Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner to have the required skills and expertise required to hold a Principal Practising Certificate.

Practice Management Course Requirements:

Attendance and content completion requirements
Participants must successfully complete all Online components and activities prior to attendance at the Workshop. Each Module requires 1 hour Online pre-reading and/or activities prior to attendance at the Workshop*.
Participants must attend each full day of the Workshop and successfully complete all required training, activities and assessments conducted during the Workshop.
*Except Module 5 Technology and Innovation which is completed wholly Online (included in the 12 hours Online Component above) and Module 7 Risk Management which requires 2 hours Online pre-reading and/or activities (included in the 12 hours Online Component above).

What You Need
Our PMC is delivered partially Online and partially Face-to-Face (the Workshop). Course materials will be sent to you Online prior to the Workshop so that you can complete your Online activities prior to the Workshop. You will need to bring your course materials with you to the Workshop, either in soft copy on your own device (laptop, iPad) or in hard copy. Should you also require us to provide a printed set of course materials, available for you at the commencement of the Workshop, a fee of $50 per full set of course materials, will be charged.

- Completion of all required pre-reading and Online activities.
- Attendance at and participation in the 3-Day Workshop.
- Satisfactory completion of all Assessments both Online and during the 3-Day Workshop.
What is the Pass Mark?
You are required to achieve a mark of at least 50% in all Assessable tasks in order to pass the Course or each individual Module if you are undertaking individual Modules.
Failure to Complete
If you fail to successfully complete any Module of the Course you may be able to complete the Module in a subsequent Course, subject to availability and payment of the individual Module fee.
Please note that the Grant of a Principal Practising Certificate Policy for Victoria and the Practice Management Course Guidelines for Victoria require that the Course must be successfully completed within 6 months of beginning the Course.
Successful Completion of our PMC
Participants will be provided with a Certificate of Successful Completion and the Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner will be notified of your successful completion of the PMC.

Practice Management Course Terms and Conditions
For online bookings, payment must be made by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or AMEX). For all other bookings, payment may be made by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or AMEX), cheque or bank deposit.
A confirmation email should be received by a registrant, upon booking into a program. A confirmation of payment email should also be received once payment has cleared. Should you not receive a confirmation of payment email please contact us prior to the program to ensure your registration has been processed.
Bookings will not be processed until payment is received and cleared.
Entry to a program will not be permitted in circumstances where payment has not been received and cleared prior to the program commencing.
Program payments are GST inclusive unless specified.
A discount may be offered on full-priced Course or individual Modules to employees of community legal centres.
Registrants who fail to attend or complete the Course are not entitled to a refund.
Registrations are transferable to another person at the discretion of Leo Cussen Centre for Law.
Transfers between Course Intakes are available if requested in writing at least 21 days prior to the Course Workshop and subject to availability. An additional fee of $275 will be charged if a transfer is granted.
Refunds are available if requested in writing at least 21 days prior to the Workshop. An administration fee of $650 will be charged if a refund is granted.
