At Leo Cussen

Lauren is a part-time Mentor in the face-to-face Practical Legal Training course in Western Australia. She facilitates the foundation skills modules which establish a guiding framework for the tasks undertaken by trainees throughout the PLT program, and provides support and mentorship for students.

Before Leo Cussen

Lauren was admitted to the legal profession in Western Australian in 1989. She began her legal career in a mid-tier firm in Perth working in insurance litigation.
She then moved to London where she worked in banking and finance, both in-house and for a global law firm. She was also an Advanced Associate in the Enforcement Division of the Financial Services Authority, the then financial regulatory body in the United Kingdom.
Since returning to Perth, Lauren has undertaken a range of legal roles, including Manager of the Alternative Legal Services practice group for a large law firm and managing the Continuing Professional Development Program for the legal profession at a not-for-profit organisation.
Lauren has also acquired extensive experience as a precedent and knowledge lawyer over the course of her career.

Special Interests

Lauren enjoys getting outdoors and traveling when she can. She is trying to explore more of the vast state that is Western Australia. She is trying to improve her cooking skills and practice meditation, not necessarily together.
