As part of the Bachelor of Laws (Swinburne) + Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Leo Cussen)

Leo Cussen has an excellent reputation training law graduates for admission to the legal profession since 1972. We are widely recognised by legal employers as providing comprehensive and high quality legal training for entry-level lawyers, with a strong emphasis on practical experience.

Our Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Practical Legal Training) program is focused on ‘learning by doing’, with a rigorous hands-on training program to better prepare you as a lawyer. You will complete exercises to develop your legal practice skills such as advising your client, drafting legal documents and communicating with other parties. You run simulated files, from taking initial instructions through to rendering accounts and sending the closing letter. You will also participate in settlements, negotiations, will signings and court hearings.

Once you complete your Priestly 11 law subjects at Swinburne, and have no more than law two electives outstanding, you can start your Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice through Leo Cussen, giving you a clear and efficient pathway to admission to legal practice.

When you train at Leo Cussen you will learn through:
