This year, Leo Cussen Centre for Law celebrates 50 years of excellence in legal education.

To mark this significant milestone we are delighted to launch the Leo Cussen Alumni Awards which recognise the significant achievements of our alumni over the years.

The inaugural alumni award will be the Leo Cussen Whole Lawyer Award and will be awarded to the alumnus or alumna who has made an outstanding contribution to the community, and to the legal profession.

The alumni award will be announced and presented at the Leo Cussen 50 Year Celebration event on the 25th August 2022.

The Whole Lawyer Award

The ‘Leo Cussen Whole Lawyer’ is someone who has had a significant contribution to the legal community and has shown to have had a positive impact on the profession.   

This award recognises their achievements in the legal community. 

Only Leo Cussen Centre for Law Alumni will be considered. 

The Nominee is an Alumnus or Alumna of Leo Cussen Centre for Law who: 

  • Has had a significant contribution to the community 
  • Has had a positive impact on the profession 

Nomination requirements

Anyone is welcome to nominate a Leo Cussen alumni for the award according to the requirements. 

If you are an alumnus or alumna, you may also nominate yourself. 

You must provide an endorsement of the nominee (a written statement endorsing the nominee and how they meet the criteria for the award).

The nominee must be endorsed by another member of the profession who will provide a written reference in support of this nomination.  The reference is to include in what context they know the nominee and over what time and how would they describe their contribution to the profession in accordance to the award requirements.
