At Leo Cussen
Stephen is a Mentor in Practical Legal Training, working with trainees in the full-time onsite course. He has been at Leo Cussen since 2002 and has responsibility (with Sze Lin Foong) for the Property Law practice topic as well as responsibility for the Tax topic. As part of his role, Stephen teaches in small group sessions with trainees in the intensive foundation skills module at the commencement of the course. He also teaches in the Property topic.
On a day-to-day basis, Stephen’s role involves mentoring onsite trainees, including queries on and the daily review of current matters handled by trainees as part of their course work.
In addition to his role as Mentor, Stephen runs his own private practice with an emphasis on property and commercial law, including general conveyancing both domestic and commercial, leasing, mortgages, adverse possession, subdivisions, property development and the sale and purchases of small businesses.

Stephen has extensive experience as a lawyer in the area of property law. He was a partner (successively) at two mid-tier law firms in Melbourne.
Stephen is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and of the Law Institute of Victoria Property Law Committee.
