Western Australian Articled Clerks' Training Program
This program is for law graduates in Western Australia who are completing their twelve months Articles of Clerkship with a law firm, government department or other organisation. The program is designed for Articled Clerks to demonstrate their understanding and competence in the National Competency Standards for Entry-Level Lawyers (NCS).
Leo Cussen Centre for Law has been approved by the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia to provide the practical legal training (PLT) component of Articles of Clerkship in Western Australia.
Please note that begining in March 2017, Leo Cussen now also has a Practical Legal Training Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
To be eligible for admission in Western Australia, law graduates have the option of:
- completing twelve months articles of clerkship which also must include completion of the Leo Cussen Centre for Law Articled Clerks' Training Program; or
- completing an approved PLT course such as the Leo Cussen Practical Legal Training Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
Registration of Articles of Clerkship with the Legal Practice Board does not also reserve a place in the Leo Cussen Centre for Law Articled Clerks' Training Program. Articled Clerks must separately make a booking with Leo Cussen Centre for Law in order to reserve a place in the program.
Those intending to register articles of clerkship are required to register with the Legal Practice Board. Please contact: Ms Deb MacDonald on (08) 6211 3600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
