At Leo Cussen

Judy is a Mentor in Practical Legal Training, working with trainees in the onsite course. She continues to practise in the areas of Wills and Estates. As part of her role, Judy teaches in small group sessions with trainees in the intensive foundation skills module at the commencement of the course and at times in Wills and Estates.

 

Before Leo Cussen

Judy has worked in both suburban and regional firms in Victoria and New South Wales, practising in wills and estates, conveyancing, family law, criminal law and civil litigation.

Judy completed Articles of Clerkship at a medium-sized city law firm and was admitted to the legal profession in 1983.

Judy was the first clinical supervisor at the Sunshine Youth Legal Centre, a project delivered in conjunction with Victoria University. In this role she worked with law students to provide legal advice and services to young people facing a multitude of legal and legally related problems.

 

Memberships

Judy is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria.

 

Achievements/Special Interests

Judy has a particular interest in legal education and also teaches at Victoria University and RMIT University. Judy has also worked as a volunteer lawyer in a number of community legal centres in the Western suburbs.

Outside law, Judy, in partnership with her husband, operates a winery at Heathcote.
